Living with a living structure
Each and every plank of wood is unique: knots and textural/colour variations are marks of authenticity. After all, all wood has been exposed to different weather conditions – cold winters, or mild? How much have the branches been exposed to strong winds? The evidence is in the cracks, the texture and the grain – individual characteristics that we take account of here at Wimmer with our different types of grading.
Fine grade has a calm appearance, with infrequent large knots.
This grade has a natural wood texture appearance with an effect that ranges from calm to lively, with knots and smaller, infrequent cracks.
Typically, this grade denotes a wood with lots of character and it allows for knots and cracks. The wood grain texture appears livelier than with the Fine or Natural grades.
